Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Team (ADAPT)
Focuses on providing awareness of alcohol-related issues and promotes abstinence and/or low-risk drinking. It also promotes the PARTY (Promoting Alcohol Responsibility Through You) program. Also available are statistics on patterns of use as well as links to other related sites for college students.
Alcohol and Your College Experience
Presents information on many aspects of alcohol and college students including tips for how to cut down on your drinking and a test to see if you drink too much. It includes information on alcohol including how it relates to: sexual experiences, effects on the body, determining your blood alcohol level and much more. There are updates on news events that are related to alcohol and college life as well.
BRAD 21 Program
Sponsored by the family and friends of Bradley McCue, a Michigan State student who died of alcohol poisoning on his twenty-first birthday. The purpose of this site is to educate young adults about the low-risk use of alcohol and the effects that alcohol can have on others. Information describes: the effects of alcohol on the body, how to recognize the effects on yourself and others, how to encourage abstinence or low-risk use, and how to determine when medical assistance is needed.
College Parents of America (CPA)
Designed to help parents prepare for their child’s college life, including information ranging from getting financial help for tuition to finding links to different resources on combating high-risk alcohol use by their child. There is excellent information for parents regarding talking to their son/daughter about binge drinking, responsible behavior, safe spring breaks and much more.
George Washington University Substance Abuse Prevention Center
Presents information on sexual assault, stress management, alcohol and drug policies,
plus tips on how to have a safe party experience Also found here are facts on the rate of first-time drug users. The goal for this site is to increase abstinence and/or low-risk drinking and awareness of possible consequences.

Focuses on students who have had enough with binge drinking and the effects that it has on campus life. It gives support for students who are trying to decrease binge drinking on college campuses. There is ample information about binge drinking and the effects it has on the drinker and those surrounding the drinker.

Provides statistics and research articles based on the Harvard School of Public Health College Alcohol Study, an ongoing survey of over 15,000 students at 140 four-year colleges in 40 states. Inter-Association Task Force on Alcohol and Other Substance Abuse Issues
Provides tips to campus officials on how to implement a task force for leadership on health issues, residential life, student life, student government and many others. Also available is information on how to train campus leaders about alcohol and other drug issues.
Promising Practices – Campus Alcohol Strategies
Presents education on elimination of alcohol and other drug abuse on college campuses. There is information on the consequences of use and how to help your campus. This site encourages students to think about their lifestyle and how to make healthy decisions. There is an online forum as well to discuss your concerns.

The Core Institute
Developed by Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, this site assists colleges in drug and alcohol prevention efforts by providing the latest statistics on campus drug/alcohol use and violence based on the Core Survey, which is administered on campuses nationwide. Copies of surveys for students, faculty and staff are available. Online advice and help are offered as well.
The Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention
Offers strategies to change culture on campuses and prevent illegal alcohol and other drug use. Supported by the U.S. Department of Education, the Higher Education Center supports all institutions in their efforts to address alcohol and other drug problems. Information on how to participate in training workshops conducted by the Higher Education Center is available from this site.
Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS)
Contains information about the TIPS program. TIPS conducts workshops for bartenders and waiters to develop the skills and confidence necessary to prevent customer intoxication. Information on the prevention of impaired driving and underage drinking is provided as well. Upcoming workshops are also posted.

There is an impairment chart that helps people realize their estimated intoxication level depending on their sex, weight, height and number of drinks consumed.
American Council for Drug Education
Discusses the effects that different substances have on the body and their impact on relationships with others. This site contains tips for parents on how to talk to their children about substance use and how to notice if their child is using an illegal substance. This council is part of the Phoenix House program and offers information on substance abuse education and prevention.

Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI)
Offers a wide range of information including nutrition, jobs and alcohol. The site addresses issues related to alcohol use including advertisements and promotions. There are many links to other sites of interest, and information on a special alcohol policy project that helps to reduce use. This site provides statistics proving that alcohol is the leading cause of premature deaths in the United States.

Dr. Drew
Based around the popular MTV show "Loveline," this site offers information on a variety of issues from general health to sex and alcohol. Provides information on diseases, nutrition, STDs, alcohol use and other issues. This site is a database for most health-related topics. There are links specialized for different age groups, gender and special populations all related to health issues.
Jean Kilbourne
Provides information on the pioneering work that Jean Kilbourne has done on alcohol and tobacco advertisements and the image of women in these advertisements. She has written a number of books and is an acclaimed lecturer on these issues. There is a list of resources for various topics she covers in her work as well as her schedule, her availability and her contact information.

Addresses efforts to reduce gun violence and substance abuse. There are news articles on each of these efforts as well as a photo gallery that shows real life consequences of violence. There is a quick search database for substance abuse and violence issues. The site also contains information regarding the "Demand Treatment" program which initiates the demand for treatment for addicts.
Marin Institute for the Prevention of Alcohol & Other Drug Problems
Provides information to assist in confronting those who profit from alcohol sales and

Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD)
Supports those who have lost a loved one due to an alcohol-related car crash. This is a nonprofit organization supported by mothers who are looking for solutions to impaired driving and underage drinking. Other information provided includes statistics for any zip code you wish to research, how to become a member, different programs offered and much more.
National Center on Addiction & Substance Abuse
(CASA: Columbia University)
Provides research results on public opinion, program demonstrations, policy development and medical studies. CASA examines the social cost of alcohol and how it affects everyone around the user. There is an assessment of what helps and what doesn’t during an intervention, as well as suggestions for those who are looking to get help for their problem.
National Clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Information
Provides an information database as well as a quick-fact page and an online forum. Through work with the Center for Substance Abuse and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, this site provides information on substance use.
National Council on Alcohol and Drug Dependence
Attempts to eradicate the stigma of the disease of alcoholism and educates Americans on the disease nature of addiction. The site indicates how addiction is a disease that is not only avoidable but also treatable. It provides information on health and medical issues as well as information for both parents and students who need help to talk to each other question and receive an answer on the web page.
National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism
Provides information on NIAAA research on the causes, consequences, treatment, and prevention of alcoholism and other alcohol-related problems. NIAAA is part of the National Institute of Health and provides information on all topics of alcohol use and abuse. Higher Education Center Against Violence and Abuse

Partnership Against Violence
Provides information about violence and adolescents that are at risk. Information from seven different Federal agencies is provided.
